While we are eagerly waiting for Neymar and Lewandowski to grace the pitch on Sunday, there’s another treat from UEFA ready for football fans. The race to UEFA Women Champions league is on fire. With Barca and Wolfsburg in the semis, all eyes are now on the Anoeta and San Mamēs stadiums in Spain. Home of Real Sociedad, Anoeta, will host Arsenal vs. PSG tonight, and Bilbao’s stadium will be home to Bayern vs. Lyon. The expectations from both the games are high. Let’s take a more in-depth look at the games.
Arsenal vs. PSG
Arsenal is setting foot in the quarter-final on the back of a 13-2 aggregate win against Sparta Praha. PSG is also not an awkward customer with a 7-1 victory over their opponents, Breidablik, in the round of 16. However, the odds are in favor of the Gunner ladies. The markswoman Vivianne Miedema is in sensational form for the North Londoners. With her spectacular goal-scoring, she is now the top scorer of the 2019/20 UWCL campaign. Moreover, she has ten goals with just 11 shots on target. Therefore, PSG’s defense needs to be at their best to stop her.
Bayern vs. Lyon
The Bavarians are already waiting to win the UCL final, but their women team has a tough task. Bayern Ladies face the defending champions and UEFA’s top team Lyon. Lyon, on the other hand, wants to secure their fifth consecutive European title. The sun is shining brighter for the French side, but the knock-out matches are always unpredictable. However, the Munich side will need some extra luck and talent to stop the marching French.
