Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step ” back as ‘senior’ member of Royal Family”. They will not use the title “His” or “Her” “Royal Highness” anymore. Also, they even have to repay $3 million spent on refurbishment their UK home. They will no longer receive funds for their duties carried out on behalf of the family. They will no longer receive royal duties, no military appointments, no tours, and no public money. This agreement will come into effect in spring this year.
Queen Elizabeth announces this after having a conversation with the couple about their future.”Harry, Meghan Archie will always be much-loved members of my family. I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.” – Her majesty statement.
They decided this because they want to balance their time between UK and North America. Queen Elizabeth also added that after many months of conversations and more recent discussions she was ” pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family.”
She also thanked them for their dedicated work, ” I want to thank them all for their dedicated work across this country, the commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has quickly become one of the family members .”
At the beginning of Jan, Harry and Meghan mention that they wanted to create a “progressive new role”, where they would be financially independent. Last year they also spoke about the struggling of media attention and royal life.
