The previous day, students had enjoyed watching GCU senior standout Gabe McGlothan win the King’s Hawaiian College Slam Dunk Championship, adding to the excitement on campus.

The Slam Jam, presented by Talking Stick Resort and Casino, aimed to support military, veterans, and first responders. The GCU community rallied around the event, treating it like a home game for the Lopes men’s basketball team.
